  1. Right Click - Edit - Keep Using This App

How do I fix this, I reset my preference to edit images with my preferred image editing program with the registry editor, after failing to locate anywhere in windows how to set my preferences for image editing, and now this pops up, and doesn't even include my preferred image editing program.

Note: "imagequick" is MINE, I compiled it, so don't touch that, that is default for VIEWING images, I am now wanting to set my preferred EDITOR.

    :)

  2. How do I keep the same image quality / files size when editing with Windows 10 standard photos app

When you choose to edit a photo in the Photos app, there is an option at the bottom of the right hand taskpane to 'Save a copy' so you can keep the original.

    Click Edit & Create menu

    Click Edit

    Make your changes

Then click Save a copy when you are done.

  3. Windows 10 right click context menu missing "Edit" option. How do I add it?

    Hi Yvan,

Do you have full permission on that particular folder? I mean, you should, but check the folder permissions and make sure they are accurate.

I’ve also used a tool called Windows Enabler which enables grayed out buttons. It’ll be from a 3rd party link, but I can find you one for download. it’s helled me out numerous times in the past.

    Let me know!

Find a .png image, right click on it and select Properties, click the change button and navigate to the program you prefer. *Nerd

If the suggestion in Post #3 doesn't work, go to Control Panel/Default Programs/Associate a File type with a program/Choose Default app by file type. Select the file extension you want to open and select the program you want to use.

Viewing and editing should be same, not a way to set differently...file association is key and you can't have two...*Huh u can right click and open with or the registry key, set to edit with...still requires a right click. *cry

  10. Yes you can, you look at the registry keys and there is OPEN and there is EDIT.

Before I edited the key, it was pointing to mspaint, so I pointed it to upaint. and now I get this popup every time.

This is not correct behavior, something is broken, how do I fix this?

  12. Sigh.

    That is what I did:
    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\SystemFileAssociations\image\shell\edit\command
    (Default) ""C:\Program Files\upx\upaint.exe"" "%1"

    Wait.

    Double double quotes, ...

Sir, I thank you for making me post what windows did with my cut and paste, it doubled up the quotes. Removed one set and it behaves as expected.

  15. Sir, my first computer was an 8080, on a breadboard, with LED's to read the results of programming it with dip switches.

I think I do pretty good considering that well paid programmers have become idiots over the years, ...

At one time, my right click for HTM files was 20 elements in size.
