Windows 10: Rotated photos return to primary position when emailed

I have an issue with Microsoft photos on my new laptop. I take a photo then rotate it so that it would be convenient to see.

But when I send it via my gmail, it reverts back in the primary position. How to stop this?

Hi Mark,

This is because Windows doesn’t rotate the photo actually; it only marks the photo as rotated. So if you want to rotate the photo permanently, follow these steps:

Please find the photo in your Pictures library folder in File Explorer (not in the Photos App)

Right click the photo and select Open With - Paint

In Paint, click Rotate

Rotate the photo and then save it

I recently bought a new laptop with Microsoft photos. Problem is that when I rotate a photo it appears the way I want it in my own files, but if I try to send it via email, (I use gmail), it reverts back to a sideways position. Anyone know how to stop this
from happening?
