  1. Running in to endless problems with Windows 10

I have started to wonder if the latest development of Windows 10 is actually a serious attempt of returning to the good old days of Windows Me o Windows Vista when no native repair tool could get to grip with the faulty architecture of this system.

About two weeks ago my install of Windows 10 went dead and no attempt of system repair succeed in bringing it back to life. I then decided to install Windows 10 media on a memory stick. This took about 8 attempts because at around 50% the install would just roll back. When I finally succeeded at doing a clean reinstall Windows 10 broke down at the first attempt of installing updates. having spent the last two days in figuring out a solution by wading through an endless amount of forums and suggestions I decided to remove the the existing copy through it's native Restore Windows to Factory settings (hoping, in this way, to perform once again a clean install but no. Half way through the operation Windows 10 gave up and reverted to the old copy.

Having spent an considerable amount of time on this matter (and no, it's not the hardware which has been thoroughly checked) and having lost all my personal data in the process I can only conclude that Windows 10 is a rushed edition which should have been given a lot more thought.

If you could enlighten me any further on how to solve this I would be glad to have some feedback but I won't hold my breath.

    :)

    Windows 10 endless loop reboot

    Hi,

    • Have you checked if the hard disk is set as first boot device in the BIOS?
    • Which version of Windows is installed on the computer?
    • What did the HP supported suggested you to fix the issue?

I suggest you to follow the steps provided in the following article and check if it helps.

    Windows 10 endless loop reboot

If the issue persists, please get back to us with the more information about the interaction with HP support and the outcome of the issue.

    Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK

Windows 10 upgrade problem, no input accepted

I really hate having to come here and ask for help, but I really am stumped. It hurts my geek pride. I have a PC with fairly modern hardware in it. It has a p8p67 pro in it. I have tried upgrading windows 10 on it twice now. Both times I have had the same result.

After windows finishes upgrading it goes to the log in/set up screen. I can't do anything. No keyboard or mouse input is accepted.

I will list some, or hopefully all, of the troubleshooting steps I have tried:
    • Move keyboard and mouse to different USB ports.
    • Try different keyboard or mouse.
    • Restart computer, repeatedly.
    • Google for related issues.
    • Update Bios, because why not.
    • Create boot media and revert to windows 7.
The windows 10 system restore boot media works fine with keyboard and mouse. All USB ports work in windows 7. I don't know what is wrong. I suspect that windows 10 is lacking a driver of some sort, but since the computer accepts no input I have no way of checking for which driver let alone installing it.

Please help me figure this out. If I have to revert back to windows 7 again, I am not going to get it upgraded to windows 10. Thank you in advanced.
