Windows 10: s mode when I try to add browsers, window opens says s mode from win 10, I have win 11

I just bought this computer as my old one was 5 yrs old and would not update, I must say I am having trouble using this new computer, Everytime I try to install software, a window opens and says win 10 s mode and if I turn it off I can't get it back. I want to use a free vpn, tor to explore the dark web

We got a new Lenovo Idea pad with I5 processor, 512 GB RAM having Windows 11 in S mode. The Settings menu doesn't show up. Also I need to use or install lot many apps that are not in Windows store. I regularly use a command window for running shell scripts. This laptop with S mode doesn't allow to start a command window. At this point, can I switch back to win 11 home? It says its one way only and cannot come back to S mode. I want to know if I can switch back safely or buy a laptop with windows 11 Home edition without S mode? Appreciate any feedback..

Is it Windows "Settings" not showing up is a defect or a feature of Win 11 in S mode? I will try to switch out of S mode. If the issue still persists, I may need to return this laptop to store.

 

Sleep mode broken (Win 10 Pro x64)

In December I upgraded a desktop (Intel i7-3770K 16Gb/Gigabyte Technology &SSD) from Win 7 Pro to Win 10 Pro, but since 12 January the computer will not wake from sleep mode (power button needed to reboot).

There were no problems with sleep mode under Win 7; there were 2 Windows updates on 12 January: Windows Defender Antivirus KB2267602 & Microsoft.YourPhone

The following steps have offered no improvement (Win 10 v 1909 18363.592):

i) Advanced Power Settings: PCI Express - change from 'Moderate Power Savings' to 'Off''
ii) CMD (admin): powercfg -h off
iii) Uninstalled Phone App: PowerShell (admin) Get-AppxPackage *Microsoft.YourPhone* -AllUsers | Remove-AppxPackage
iv) Windows Memory Diagnostic Tool run - No errors detected
v) Windows drivers appear up to date

Any suggestions for a remedy would be much appreciated.
