Windows 10: Sad news --Slysoft (AnyDVD forced to shut down)

WAY TO GO - Just tried it in my VM and it activated. Just clicked on the exe file, navigated to my anydvd registration file, and selected that, shutdown anydvd and restarted - JOB DONE.

Only problem is now over time new methods will come out and eventually ANYDVD will be less useful.

PS - You can report back that this worked, seeing as you quoted my post here.

 

Nice one, thanks for reporting. I will let the other thread now of the success. But your right new methods will make AnyDVD less effective. Although I have a backlog of hundreds of dvds to digitalise at home (plus I find newer movies nowhere near as good as the older classics, force awakens a notable exception!) so AnyDVD should keep me going for some time to come!

If all else fails -- use VLC in real time and record !!! --bit of a Dinosaur way to go but when everything else is broken. !! --if you have a licensed copy of AnyDVD it should continue working indefinitely. I've also tried on a Windows VM --no prob.

Incidentally can't be long now before VLC is targeted - especially as it has LIBDVDCSS (decryption) and Blu Ray modules built in to the latest release and also can play the latest X265 very high Ultra HD (4K stuff) too.

Thanks for that suggestion. Never used VLC and had no idea it could do that. It's better than nothing should everything else fall apart. But it sounds as long as we have a licensed version of AnyDVD and keep that setup.exe and keys backed up and safe we should be good to go!

That is very sad news for those of us who have used MediaPortal and other alternatives to Windows Media Center. Without AnyDVD or the equivalent, these other media center applications cannot play copy-protected DVDs the way Window Media Center could.
