    Same issue, cannot print in Windows 10


    Not only can I not print, I cannot open "Devices and Printers" in Control Panel to check out my printer settings. As soon as I try clicking on it... or searching for "printers" in W10's start button search, I get the spinning blue icon that never goes away. Hoping someone has a solution for this. I was printing fine until yesterday and made no changes to any programs or applications in my PC and today... this. I'm wondering if Microsoft snuck in an update that did this.

    windows 10 communication with printer

    I have just switched to windows 10.

    first issue:

    printing.

    I can print from word and scan etc.

    I cannot print from explorer edge or pdf. they both access the same window so I must assume the usie the same pathway to print.

    in both it states it cannot communicate with the printer.

    this also occurs if I try to use the microsft print to pdf or another pdf printer I have always used and print to microsft xps writer.

    IU hgave ran sfc/scannow - it stated no issues - but no change.

    Reflects my experience exactly!

    Sine Microsoft are selling 'Edge' for Windows 10 I tried that as well. Same result; same Error Code!

    You can disable Windows from automatically updating (changing) the printer drivers by downloading the show & hide updates Microsoft utility and using it to stop the changes.

    What printer are you using? What driver? Have you checked the printer manufacturer website for software/driver updates for Win10?
