  2. This is very strange. If it works on one 850, there is no conceivable reason it would not work on the other, unless some setting is prohibiting it from doing so. And the software wouldn't magically (excuse the pun) work on my older 840 drive, and not want to work on a newer 850. So I would still say you have a fighting chance of getting it to work. You just have to find out what is the culprit which is inhibiting it from doing so. I'd talk to Samsung tech support. They could probably tell you what that might be.

I don't understand what you are showing me with this. It basically is saying what I wrote. The 850 Pro and EVO are both listed.

  5. So my understanding is that if you have 4 partitions on 1 SSD they all will be in Rapid Mode but with a 2nd SSD it will not be.

    Exactly.
I used to use RAPID on my disk that had my Hyper-V VMs on it, so it would communicate with my M:2 system disk faster.
Now I have upgraded my system to an 8700K and my mainboard has two M.2 slots, I use a second M.2 for my VMs(which is even faster than slow poke RAPID*092)

Yeah, it does NOT have anything to do with how many partitions a drive has. I've never said anything to the contrary. And I have stated from the beginning that it will ONLY work on one drive at a time, but that you can remove it from one drive, to make it work on another drive. This is what I did, as I stated earlier. I removed it from my newer drive, to make it work on my older drive to keep performance high across the board.
If you look back at my post on #572, I clearly stated that if you have rapid mode on one drive, it will not work on another drive.

  9. That's not actually true. My system drive is a pcie m.2 960, which is blazingly fast. It has no need for rapid mode. My system loads from a cold start in less than seven seconds, with a reboot from desktop to desktop in around 18-20 seconds. And it benches at 3185 read and 1760 write. But putting rapid mode on my oldest drive makes it quite a bit faster, and thus sures up the slowest drive in the system, and brings it up close to standards of the others. That in my opinion is the best use for rapid mode.

  11. Mine is NOT therein lay the problem. Both of my Drives are SATA II and there is nothing wrong with either of them.

  12. Ah, gotcha. Well then I guess I'm confused then, why you were trying to move it in the first place? In that situation, I would definitely just leave it on the sys drive.

I never tried to move it , I just clicked on the drop down to show the 2nd drive...I have no choice as to what drive it is on, if I did I would have leave it is, as I previously posted to NOT have it on the System drive would be counter productive as it is best to have The OS drive as optimized as possible.

    Hi,

If these are the drives mentioned in the system specs then they're Sata III not II.

NVMe is not even supported by SM.

    Cheers, *Wink
