Windows 10: Samsung Magician

Discus and support Samsung Magician in Windows 10 Software and Apps to solve the problem; Hi, According to Samsung's instructions it would support its 840EVO, 850 EVO and 860 EVO which are SATA drive available in M2 format.     NvMe is not supported in Magician. Thats why you only see your Sata SSD's
    In other words you Can't run rapid mode on ANY M.2 style drive. *Smile

    But the M2 drives I mentioned are SATA drives not NVMe ones.

    It never sees mine. One of Those OEM NvME M.2 961s. Neither does Crystal Disk, but that's a different story.

    Not a single Samsung OEM drive is supported by SM anyhow.

    Again, if you mean these type, which are sata style ssd's, but still need the NvMe driver, then you can't run rapid mode on them. *Smile

    Hi,

    I don't see any mention of these drives requiring a NVMe driver and SM mentions it supports Rapid Mode for these.
    Never heard of a SATA drive (regardless of support format) needing a NVMe driver to work....

    It doesn't but if you say use an NvMe drive for your System Drive then SM Rapid Mode would work on the second SSD SATA III drive 840,850,860...etc.

    Your Rapid Mode issue could be related to where you have the SSD connected. Have you tried to connect it to the exact same port as the smaller drive is connected to right now?

    SM will not work with m.2 drives. That is the first point to correct. The second is that you can point SM software to any Samsung drive that supports it, NOT just your system drive. OldMike65 gets what I was trying to say from the beginning of this conversation. You can use SM as you need to. Any supported drive can be used, but only on that single drive. It can not be split between two drives. Although, as I pointed out earlier, it should be able to by now as Samsung has the ability to make that a reality, but don't seem to care enough about it to implement.

    Now I have to correct this correction. *Wink

    SM works with 2.5" SATA, mSATA and M.2 SATA drives, but not with M.2 NVMe drives. In other words, any SATA SSD that is of Samsung brand and has been added to the supported list.
