    Hi there
SSD's haven't been around for 20 years so we can't compare that statistic - however the anecdotal evidence so far is that they WILL last just as long as spinners - especially the current crop. I have had a few (fortunately not many) HDD failures - but never ANY SSD problems.

If you are worried about data loss - it's the same with any medium -- ALWAYS BACK UP TO MORE THAN ONE DEVICE --the chances of two going bad at the same time are probably about the same as your computer lasting longer than the probable life time of the universe.

I've dropped an SSD down a flight of stairs -- no problem -- still working fine. I wouldn't think a normal HDD would have survived that fall.

If I can afford it (maybe this week if I get my "6 Numbers" correct !!! ) I'll buy one of these 4TB SSD's. I don't have any problem with that technology.

    Cheers
