    SATA cables

I just got my new SSD and i dont have a spare SATA cable. I dont live near a best buy or tech shop and ordering online would be a last resort. Im wondering if it is ok to borrow the SATA that connects my cd drive to my motherboard.

  2. How to recolor SATA cables

    Hi everyone,

I just bought an eSATA backplate for my system (stock image below) and its SATA cables are colored Gigabyte yellow but my system theme is black. What would you suggest to do to change the color of the SATA cables to black?

Thanks for the advice in advance!

  3. sata to USB cable and windows 7 to 10

    Hi Eric,

To address this, kindly follow these steps:

    • Right click the drive that has been connected to your computer through the USB.
    • Click Properties on the drive and on the
      Tools
      page you will find "Error-Checking".
    • Click Run. Please be careful if you're prompted to format the hard drive and don't go ahead with it as this will delete all the files in the drive.
If the repair still doesn't allow you to access the data then connecting it via Sata Power and Motherboard after removing the caddy is the only way to see if this drive is still functioning properly or not.

    Keep us posted.

    SATA 3.0 (6Gbps) Cables - What's the Deal?

I've heard many reviewers state that there is no difference between a SATA 2.0 cable and a SATA 3.0 cable other than the marking on them. I have heard others say that there are differences. I'd definitely like a definitive answer on this.

    Found this from SATA-I

They definitely mention that SATA 2.0 cables may not live up to SATA 3.0 drives, but there doesn't seem to be a set standard for the cabling, at least in that document. Is there any other information out there?
