How to save files to cloud instead of on PC-LOW DISK SPACE?

    Hi Lisa,

You can add files to OneDrive in many different ways and then get to them from anywhere. In new installations of Windows 10 for many eligible users, files save to OneDrive by default in Windows 10, rather than to your PC. This means you can access those
files from any device that can connect to the Internet, and they are protected in case your computer is ever damaged. You can change your default save setting anytime. To learn more on how to set where your files are saved or move your files to OneDrive, you
can follow the steps in this
    link
    .

You can also use the OneDrive website to upload the files from your computer and once you uploaded it, you can delete the files from your computer. To use the OneDrive website, you can follow the steps below:

    • On the
      OneDrive website
, sign in with your Microsoft account, and then browse to the location where you want to add the files.
    • Select Upload.
    • Select the files you want to upload, and then select Open.

Should you need further assistance, don't hesitate to get back to us.

save files instead of opening ... how to change ?

    Hi, welcome to tenforums.

There are many ways to receive and process emails, so it would help to know which email program (if any) you are using.

As what you report seems strange, please post a screenshot (use the icon left of the video icon above your post 'Insert Image') of both cases, making the context clear.

Was this working and then stopped, or has it never worked? Thanks.

  5. If you hover over icon do you get a menu? Is there a context menu if you right click? What happens if you single click?

Agree my gmail and outlook accounts provide a "View / Open" when clicked on.

  6. I'll try to explain this a little better.
Here is a post from another forum
If I try to open the attachment ..it will send me to save as.
How do I change this to just open?

Recently the sheriff noticed that bandits roamed in the surroundings, probably to plunder the bank or get rid of the ballast from the lumberjacks of their pay.
He ordered immediately the construction of a gallows to make them think and punish them if need

  7. You can't change the way a program works unless it has options / tools / settings where behavior can be modified. You may notice slight behavioral changes using different browsers but basicactions are coded by the developers.

I don't have your mail program so you will have to determine if there is a "Setting". You can also contact the vendor of the product and ask them how do I change this behavior. You may also lobby your vendor to add functionality. I would check their forum to see how they handle user input. They may even have an answer within their forum on changing the "Save as".

In your original post I think you said you double clicked and it opened save as. I believe the words Open and View are somewhat interchangeable in this context. My question was what happens if you hover, right click or single click.

    Sorry I don't have a better answer.

I'd agree with that- I'm afraid I can't recognise which program you're using- or browser so can't comment further.

  9. It looks like nertzero.com for web based mail. I tried to go but Malwarebytes didn't like something and I the ejector seat button. It may just be a typo as I see netzero.net as a Broadband supplier.

  10. in your example, those are all Office files. Work and Excel. Most programs don't open them up because of security concerns. They can contain macros that could execute upon opening. If you have Office installed, they would open but in Office's Safe Mode where you have to click on the Enable button in the yellow bar at the top of the open document. I'm not sure about other programs like Open Office, but I would expect that they have similar safeguards. If you don't have a program that will open them at all, Windows will only allow saving.

If you do have Office, check you file associations to see what those file extensions are mapped to. Go to Settings and in the search bar at the top, type 'extensions' and choose the option 'Choose a default app for each type of file'
