Windows 10: scam alert possibly??

Discus and support scam alert possibly?? in AntiVirus, Firewalls and System Security to solve the problem; received call today # is in Utah, caller identified themselves as a microsoft windows tech, stated windows 10 crashes needs to give me a refund then...     scam alert possibly??


    received call today # is in Utah, caller identified themselves as a microsoft windows tech, stated windows 10 crashes needs to give me a refund then give me a new serial #. Asked for me to log into my computer and visit some url. I hung up on the person. Has anyone else received a call advising that windows 10 is crashing and you will need to dowload again?

    Yes, these fake alerts are well known so-called Tech support scams.

    Suggestion to read the below post to learn how to deal with these Fake alerts, especially while using Edge...


    In addition you might also want to read these, IMO, interesting and enlightening articles and I'd also make sure to get a good advertisment blocker. I, personally, use uBlock Origin.:

    As already mentioned:

    All these kind of pop-ups/alerts are fake warnings - scams. Never ever call these numbers.
