    Scam Alert


    Pup up display that my computer had downloaded a trojan horse and that all my information has been compromised. Flashing screen, bells, voice not to shut down but to call Microsoft @ 888-350-8045. I called and told I was directed to a security specialist Mike Austin, Employee id: MS1312. and call back number 407-710-2853. A accepted team viewer and gave him access to scan for malware, virus etc. Looked very official until he started asking for money. That's when I got suspicious and took my box to my computer guru and confirmed I was being scammed. Fortunately nothing was compromised.

    Microsoft alert scam

    No, I found out about the scam after I contacted the company whose phone number was listed on the alert and paid $49.99 to fix my computer.
