  1. Scammed Using UltraViewer

I was hacked/scammed with a virus popup and my computer locked up. It told me to call the Microsoft number. I did and they asked my install UltraViewer so they could unlock my computer!!! Regrettably I did!!! My questions are: If I walked away from my computer how much info do they have access to? Everything? or just what is open? Can they just see it or can they download everything? ex. documents in my File Explorer, drop box... Thank you!Lessons Learned

    Is Ultraview a scam program?

UltraViewer is just a remote support software. Itself not a scam or harmful program. But the technician who contacted you may be a scammer. So do not allow him to remote control your computer if you could not verify his identification.

  3. Is Ultraview a scam program?

I just had a phone call from 1-866-978-4891. It was someone with what sounded like an Indian accent telling me my Windows key had expired. In answer to my question, he said he was from Tech Support and was going to help get me to someone who could get
me an updated key so that I wouldn't lose all my info. He had me run ms config to confirm that he was legit. He then had me install either Ultraview or Ultraviewer. I asked what it was, and he said it was so a supervisor in Tech Support could remotely access
my computer and get it working again with an updated key. When he connected me, the next guy told me it would be $100 for 3 years, and when I asked more detailed questions, like why was I still able to use my computer and get into my MS programs, he got angry
and said he had other calls coming in and was going to end the call. I asked if I shouldn't be able to call MS myself to verify, and he said fine, but my computer was going to be wiped of all info within 4 hours and hung up. I deleted the program from my desktop,
then went to Control Panel to uninstall it, but I couldn't find it. I need to know if I was scammed and what to do about it. I already filed a scam form via Windows Support, but couldn't get to a human.
