You are still a child, I am old enough to be your grandfather. I have tried to end this conversation several times and you continue on by trying and forcing me to do something that I am not going to do.

I don't think you understand what an in-place upgrade does.

It's just like upgrading to the next version of Windows 10, except you are upgrading to the same version that you already have. I have done it several times, nothing was lost, all my files and installed apps are still there and working - I still have some apps that were installed back when this PC was running Windows 7. It fixes many problems, without loosing anything.

And if you don't like the results, like any other upgrade you have 10 days in which you can roll back to your previous system.

Alright guys, I will give it a try and I will definitely get back. This still does not answer my original question as to why I got a notification with "click here for more information" and the link did nothing.

You get this if you try upgrading to a different base language than the existing system, or one is the 'N' version and the other isn't. To be able to keep personal files and apps you must make install media for the same language and type of system as you currently are running.

Using the same disk that I did the Windows 7 to 10 upgrade with; I downloaded the ISO before the upgrade and created the DVD. My opinion is that one of the updates, upgraded the version number and the old one is no longer valid.

How did you try to start the upgrade? Did you boot from the DVD? If so, that's not how to do it.

You have to run the Setup.exe on the DVD from within your existing Windows, same as the instructions for using a USB. And, the same as when using a USB, you must eject the DVD when it says it's copied all the files and about to reboot for the first time. You need to boot to your hard drive to continue the upgrade, not boot the DVD which would then offer to do a clean install.
