Windows 10: Screen black in Game When Changing Volume while OSD should be showing

Everything was fine until yesterdays Windows 10 update. Now when I'm in a game and adjust the volume the screen goes black for about 5 sec, this is the time when the volume OSD would display in the upper left side of the screen. I can use the window key to get back to desktop then click the game on the taskbar to re-enter and it works fine until I launch the game again.


I don't have a HDR monitor where I've found fixes. And I can turn the OSD off but I need it to see the volume level. Also, the update deleted my Sound blaster software and reinstalled it, but I lost all my custom EQ setting. Everything is up to date with the drivers.

Volume OSD icon doesn't show up while gaming

Yep, that's basically it. Was following someones instructions on how to increase FPS and disabled some windows feature. Now the volume OSD icon doesn't show up if I'm playing a game. any game. but I need it...
Do you guys know how to get it back?

 

[Windows 10] Airplane mode OSD won't show up after reboot

I have a notebook has a Airplane mode hot key (Fn++F2). It works fine on Windows 8/8.1: when the key pressed, there is a Airplane mode on/off OSD show up at top-left corner and Wi-Fi/Bluetooth are turned
off accordingly.

On Windows 10, however, OSD won't show up until I press other keys like Volume Up, Down or Mute, after that, the Airplane mode OSD works just fine. (Airplane mode function always work, the problem is no
OSD)

Steps to reproduce:

1. Reboot system

2. Press Airplane mode hot key (problem: no OSD)

3. Press Volume up hot key (volume OSD show up at top-left corner)

4. Press Airplane mode hot key again (Airplane mode OSD shows up)

Follow above steps, you can 100% reproduce the problem.

- Windows 10 Pro 64-bit 10240 (other insider preview has same problem)

Original Title: Weird Issues with the Win10 Volume OSD

Since Yesterday i got a wierd problem with my with my Volume OSD (wich I personally like very much). When I try to change the Volume by using my keybord shortcuts or my programmed mouse, the Volume OSD shows the changed volume value for something like a
half second before it shows the "mute-X" but my sound stays on the half-second-value and is not muted. It is some kind of annoying. Even a shutdown/restart does not solve the problem.

Relevant System-Specs:

Schenker XMG P506 Pro Gaming Notebook

Microsoft Windows 10 Home (uptodate)

No new programs recently installed
