Windows 10: Screen is freezing off and on

My screen is freezing off and on, this happens every thirty minutes or so. I can still move my mouse and hear the sounds on the computer, it is not malware as I just got this PC and have malware bytes and have scanned tons of times. I'm getting error messages in my Event Viewer such as


The IO operation at logical block address 0x2ca028 for Disk 2 PDO name: \Device\00000037 was retried.


Name resolution for the name wpad timed out after none of the configured DNS servers responded.


The server {AB8902B4-09CA-4BB6-B78D-A8F59079A8D5} did not register with DCOM within the required timeout.


Reset to device, \Device\RaidPort0, was issued.


taskhostw 3176,D,0 WebCacheLocal: A request to write to the file "C:\Users\James\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\WebCache\V01.log" at offset 57344 0x000000000000e000 for 4096 0x00001000 bytes succeeded, but took an abnormally long time 18 seconds to be serviced by the OS. This problem is likely due to faulty hardware. Please contact your hardware vendor for further assistance diagnosing the problem.


I have a powerful PC so there is no reason this should happen. If anyone knows why or what is happening please tell me.

Screen Freezing up

Andre, thanks for your suggestions. I performed all steps as you listed and it appears that there were

some problems that have been corrected. I will let you know in a day or so if the "freeze" problem

occurs again. Many thanks for your help --- this took longer than I expected!

Screen freeze

'screen freeze' is a very vague term.

Can you describe the issue with more detail?

ex: the image on screen freezes, but i can hit the power button and windows shuts down normally, and i can hear sounds in the background.
