Windows 10: Screen saver does not automatically start

So recently I did a clean install of Windows 10 21H2. This was the version I was running before the clean install. My screen saver worked normally before but now it will not automatically start. I have tried unplugging all my USB devices, the same ones I have had plugged in for years. I have tried running the Power Troubleshooter and allowed it to change the setting I had, the same settings I had before the clean install. The troubleshooter just set it so that my monitor shuts off but it never fixes the issue of the screen saver working. This started right after the clean install, even b

Let us know what happens exactly when you try to set the screen-saver or put the computer to sleep.

I would suggest you to review he settings and check. Here is the steps:

To change Screen Saver:

• Press Windows/Start key.
• Type Screen Saver and click on Change Screen Saver.
• Select the screensaver from the drop down menu and click on Apply.
• Click on OK.

To put the computer in sleep:

• Press Windows/Start key.
• Type Power and click on Power Options.
• Select Change when the computer sleeps in the left panel.

Screen saver starting automatically after 1 minute of inactivity

I suggest you to follow the steps mentioned below and check if that helps.



Method 1:



Run the power troubleshooter. Follow the steps mentioned below to run the troubleshooter.

1. Go to Settings >
   Update & security > Troubleshoot.
   
2. Under Find and fix problems look for
   Power.
   
3. Click on it and select
   Run the troubleshooter.
   
4. Follow the on-screen instructions.
   

Method 2:



Change the screen saver time and check.

1. Go to Settings >
   Personalization > Lock screen.
   
2. Now click on Screen saver settings.
   
3. On the screen saver window change the
   wait time as per your choice.
   
4. Click on Apply and
   OK.

The issue you encountered with screen saver can be due to incorrect screen saver settings. To better isolate your concern, we'd like to ask the following:

• Have you tried changing the screen saver settings?
• Are you trying to off the the screen saver?

Meanwhile, you can follow these steps to turn off your screen saver:

• Open Settings and Select Personalization.
• Click Lock screen, scroll down and choose Screen saver settings.
• Choose None in the drop-down menu.
• Select Apply.
• Click OK.
