Screen Saver & Lock Screen cannot co-exist?

I just noticed this last week & have tested it a few times.

If I go to Settings>Personalization>Background & set Background to Slideshow, my screensaver will show. But then my Lockscreen setting is changed to Picture.

If I go to Settings>Personalization>Lockscreen & set the Background to Slideshow, my Lockscreen pictures will flow, but the screensaver will be reset to Picture.

In other words, if I leave my computer idle, the screensaver will kick in; but my lockscreen setting will revert to Picture. If I lock my screen & have my pictures flow, my screensaver setting will revert to Picture. I can't get both settings to stay set.

If anyone understands, can you tell me if this is normal?

    :)

    Screen Saver/Desktop/Screen Saver

    Hi Jim,

The issue you encountered with screen saver can be due to incorrect screen saver settings. To better isolate your concern, we'd like to ask the following:

    • Have you tried changing the screen saver settings?
    • Are you trying to off the the screen saver?

Meanwhile, you can follow these steps to turn off your screen saver:

    • Open Settings and Select Personalization.
    • Click Lock screen, scroll down and choose Screen saver settings.
    • Choose None in the drop-down menu.
    • Select Apply.
    • Click OK.

Keep us posted if you need additional help.

    screen saver

    Hello,

This is how to set photos as your screensaver:

Step 1: Open Settings app. Navigate to Personalization > Lock Screen.

Step 2: Scroll down the Lock Screen settings page to see Screensaver settings link. Click Screen Saver settings link to open the classic Screen Saver Settings dialog.

Step 3: From the list of screensavers available, choose Photos from the drop-down dialog.

Step 4: By default, Windows 10 uses photos saved in the Pictures folder for the screensaver. If you want to change this location, click the Settings button to open Photos Screen Saver Settings dialog.

Step 5: Click the Browse button, select a folder and then click Ok button. Click Apply.

Note: If there are sub-folders under the selected folder, photos in subfolders will be used for screen savers as well. This may help since you want all of your photos to rotate.

You can have as many pictures as you like rotating and if you want to change them, just select a different folder or add and remove as desired to the existing folder.

    I hope this helps!
