Windows 10: Screen Saver No Longer Works

I know screen savers are outdated, however I still like to see pictures rolling across my monitor when it's been left alone.

Over the past three day's I've noticed my screensaver hasn't been kicking in. I have done all of the obvious culprits, checked for windows updates, tried changing it from Photos to a Win 10 .scr, changed the time out settings before the screen saver kicks in.

I have on all of my OS's had the power plan settings "turn off display" - Never and "put the computer to sleep" - Never

I have just tried using the Tutorial

Specify Screen Saver in Windows

However I can only get to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows

Let us know what happens exactly when you try to set the screen-saver or put the computer to sleep.

I would suggest you to review he settings and check. Here is the steps:

To change Screen Saver:

• Press Windows/Start key.
• Type Screen Saver and click on Change Screen Saver.
• Select the screensaver from the drop down menu and click on Apply.
• Click on OK.

To put the computer in sleep:

• Press Windows/Start key.
• Type Power and click on Power Options.
• Select Change when the computer sleeps in the left panel.

• Open Settings and Select Personalization.
• Click Lock screen, scroll down and choose Screen saver settings.

• Select Apply.
• Click OK.
