Windows 10: Screen Time Extension

At times I want to be able to extend screen time on my chids PC before I am asked. This is typically for one off occasions: e.g. I am going out for a while and want to authorise additional time before I leave.


I cannot find an option anywhere to permit extra time before it is requested by my child. The only way I can find to do this is to either turn off all restrictions, or to amend the allowance/times for that day, meaning I have to reconfigure the times again later.


Does anyone know how I can approve 1 or 2 hours when I leave without needing to reconfigure the app?

This implies my child can request a temporary extension for his screen time and that I can approve it by email and/or through the website. How does he request, and how do I approve. Please provide a step-by-step.

I hope you are not implying that I have to go onto the website, change his settings for the day and at the end of the day go back into the account and change it back!!! That would be VERY inconvenient!

So maybe the question(s) should be more direct:

1) How does the child ask for an extension? (screenshots or step-by-step instructions please, just saying you can do it doesn't help any)

2) How does the parent provide an extension? (again screenshots or step-by-step instructions please).

So far the only thing I have found was to login as a parent and change the number of hours allowed for that given day... far from allowing an extension, this is just allowing me to set a limit. So webpages have indicated something about an e-mail that could
be approved. My child has routinely run out of time but I have yet to receive a single e-mail... so again #1 above.

Extensions unresponsive

I realized your concern and will assist you to resolve the issue.

I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if it helps.

• 
  Settings > System > Apps & Features > Uninstall the problem Edge Extension(s)
  
• 
  Go to Store > manually search the store for the extension, then install it again.
  

After it's installed, click the 'Launch' button and it will take you to Edge where you can set it up.
