Windows 10: Screen with white marks after 1 week no being used + charger not recognized anymore

After 2 weeks holiday, i opened my laptop Dell inspiron and found the touch screen was with white marks and the charger is not recognized anymore. The charger was sitting on the laptop for the 2 weeks, and the shape of the white marks match te size and shape of the charger which by the way was not powered.

How come the Bios doesn’t recognize the charger anymore, and how come the charger damaged the touch screen?

Was that charger definitely not powered when it was left on top of the screen, because TFT screens are very susceptible to magnetic fields . . .

Boot up your laptop, on the Dell logo screen, repeatedly press F12

From the resulting menu, choose Diagnostics

Run the diagnostics test, when asked if you want to run the extended memory test, choose No

Does your power adapter pass the Diagnostics test?

Hi Dave. Thanks very much for this prompt answer. I am positive the charger was not powered. It was unplugged before storage but was placed pretty soon after unplughing on the closed Laptop.

I ran the diagnostics nd the result : the AC power adapter wattage and type cannot be determined. The battery may not charge.
