Windows 10: Screen won't start

    What exactly are you trying to do?
    1. Install Windows from a USB?
    2. Install Linux from a USB?
    3. Use a USB to create a live environment?
    4. Mount a virtual drive from a USB?

    What exactly is on the USB stick? Is it an original OEM copy of Windows, is it a system image or is it an ISO?

    And just one last question, what do you mean it is turning off and on? What is turning off and on? If it is your computer then maybe you have serious hardware issues. Also, what do you see on your screen? Do you see the Windows flag or do you see the brand name for your computer?

    Screen won't start

    That is very good. You do not need to mess with the BIOS. Just use the Microsoft Media Creation Tool and burn yourself an ISO of Windows 10 and insert that into your DVD drive. It should load and you should be good to go.

    But my c drive is locked
    I can't access it

    For my understanding so far,

    RC: You changed the security permissions for your entire C:\ directory and prevented all access.
    Windows then crashed, and would not start.

    You've now restarted it and run the automatic repair?

    Currently, you are in Windows, however you cannot access any of the files in the C:\ directory?

    Is that correct?


    If this is the case, you can try following this guide - Take Ownership - Add to Context Menu in Windows 10 - Windows 10 Forums

    Which will enable you to gain access to your files / folders once more. However! Do not take ownership of the Windows folder, else you will lock the system again.
