Windows 10: ScreenClippingHost.exe Is Not Working As It Should!!!

Sometimes i use the command windows + shift + s to take screenshot in a specific area and sometimes it gets stuck and doesn't work but i can run the snipping tool from the windows search but still cant use the command. After i take a screenshot the command must be excuted and closed but sometimes it's still open in background and i can find it in the taskbar. If i manually close it from the taskbar then i can take a screenshot again and after me closing it then it gets stuck after one more screenshot, please help me fix this problem.

It is possible that you .exe is not working due to corrupted system files or account. To assist you better, kindly answer the following questions:

• Does this happen with a specific application or with all of your application?
• Have you tried creating a new admin account to check if the issue also with new account or only with the current account?

In the meantime, we suggest that you follow the steps in this article on how

The tutorials provided are just a list of troubleshooting steps. Use only the steps which apply to you.

Since none of the troubleshooting steps here worked, I'd suggest you do a Clean install.

While it is indeed possible under Windows 10 to use an older winhlp32.exe to read .hlp files, there are security vulnerabilities in doing so.

Converting to PDF is one option, but reading a PDF is not quite the same as having a fully functional Help file. Conversion to a help file format that Windows 10 supports would be the ideal.

The replacement format for help files is the compiled HTMLHelp format (CHM). The look and use of a .chm help file is almost identical to that of the older .hlp files. In fact, the project files (table of contents, images, text etc.) used to compile a .hlp file can easily be converted to a .chm project. From there it's an easy step to recompile the project in .chm format. Microsoft of course don't release the project files for their Help files, but these can be recreated by decompiling the .hlp file.
