Windows 10: Screenshots from an Android Galaxy S7 will not open in any program on Windows 10 PC

I downloaded a number of screenshots off my phone, a Galaxy S7, and am finding that none of them will open in any photo viewing program, including Microsoft Photos and Paint but also Google Drive and other non-Microsoft products.


The screenshots are .jpg files, and the error message I get from Photos is "It looks like we don't support this file format." However, all other .jpgs that are not screenshots display correctly.


What is going on here and is there any way to view them, short of putting them back on my phone?

Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

just think of J7 too but so far i hold myself from getting new device, i may wait kinda longer for android N
S7 is nice but thats not on my level for getting that phone *Stick Out Tongue
