Does One Drive sync well with Scrivener?

  2. downloading Scrivener

I was able to download Scrivener to my new PC, but received the message, "Windows Smart Screen prevented an unrecognized application from starting because this app might put your PC at risk." Although there is an option to use the app, there is a warning
that it might put my PC at risk. What does "unrecognized" mean? I know where I got the app, I've been using it on another laptop and simply want to use it now on my new laptop.

Word update - fixed thanks to everyone who helped

    Hi Nikki,

To reset the file association on Scriv files:

Right click a Scriv File, choose 'Open With - Choose another App'

Check the box marked 'Always use this app to open scriv files'

Find Scrivener, in the list of apps, if it does not appear, at the bottom of the list, click 'More Apps'

Once you find Scrivener, click OK

That will reset the file association on those scriv files . . .

    Properties and Security Settings

I have Windows 10 (little choice there,)

The writing program is Scrivener. It automatically backs-up (the frequency being at my discretion).

I've had the permission problem with more than just files from Scrivener. It's a royal pain in the parts. I'd love to just turn the whole thing off. The prospect of having to change settings with every file isn't a pleasant one.
