Windows 10: SD Card is recognized, But does not work with Windows.

Discus and support SD Card is recognized, But does not work with Windows. in Windows 10 Drivers and Hardware to solve the problem; So my computer is running Windows 10 version 1903. and I wanted to use my SD Card for windows apps.     SD Card is recognized, But does not work with Windows.


    So my computer is running Windows 10 version 1903. and I wanted to use my SD Card for windows apps. So i insert my SD Card into the slot on my laptop. Windows makes the Device Connected sound, But nothing shows up in File Explorer. So I go to Control Panel to see what's going on. I went into drivers and confusing enough, It sees the SD Card is inserted, But I can't see or modify the files of the SD Card in File Explorer. (See image below.) So I go to see the properties of the SD Card and Windows says "This device is working properly." Now im just puzzled. Windows recognized the SD Card, But It won't work.     Jon,

    You posted that you would try the suggested steps by Tryx3. May we have an update if the suggested steps have resolved the issue about your SD card being recognized as a fixed drive in Windows 10?

    Hi Steve,

    To better assist you, provide us with the following information:

    • Do any other SD cards work on your Windows 10 laptop?
    • Have you tried checking if your Kingston SD10VG2 works on other computers? If not, we suggest you to do so.
    • Were there any changes made on your laptop prior to this concern?

    For possible resolution, check if the SD card is listed in Disk Management by following the steps below:

    1. Press Windows key + X.

    2. Click on Disk Management.

    3. Check if Kingston SD10VG2
    is listed.

    If the SD card is not listed in Disk Management, we recommend you to check
    for an updated driver from the manufacturer and have the latest version installed. After ensuring that the correct driver is installed, check if the device is recognized in the Device Manager.

    There are several reasons why your SD card reader is not working. To assist you better, kindly answer the questions below:

    • Have you made any changes to your computer prior to this issue?
    • What are the other troubleshooting steps have you done so for?
    • Have you tried to use another SD card reader and see if it is getting recognized or detected by your computer?
