Windows 10: Search category WEB dissapeared after upgrading to 1903

Upon updating to 1903 the category WEB disappeared from my search list of search options which now reads ALL, APPS, DOCUMENTS, SETTINGS, EMAIL, MORE....... I have noticed that two or three other users have experienced the same problem, however I have not seen a satisfactory solution. I would like to keep this discussion alive.

Thank you, even if the answer were disappointing.

I don't find much use of the current Lumia group categories, maybe except for Eating and drinking, because they are so broad that it's very hard to find what you are specifically looking for. If I search for a pharmacy I for sure won't find it using the
Shopping group, because there are a drillions of closer shops of every kind filling up the list.

I liked the older Symbian category search much better; it was easy for every specific POI category to get a list over the closest objects, and also choose which categories that should be marked on the map.



Instead I found that I can use the free text search and type in the category there, like "petrol station". But that supposes that I know all existing categories, so I know what to search for. Is there such a list?

In Nokia Drive, this search unfortunately requires an online connection.

Since the steps above did not work for you, we suggest that you disable web search by navigating the settings of Cortana itself. Please follow the steps below:

• Open the search box in the taskbar.
• Click the Notebook icon.
• Click Settings from the list.
• On the Settings page, turn off the Cortana can give me suggestions, ideas, reminders, alerts and more option.

Disabling web results in the search box depends on the version and build of your Windows 10. We suggest checking the Windows 10 version and build installed on your computer. To check the version and build, follow the steps below:

• On Cortana search, type winver and press
  Enter.
• A pop-up box will appear containing the version and build of your operating system.

Meanwhile, you can try these steps on how to disable web results in the search box:

• Click the search box in the taskbar.
