Windows 10: Search Index not working

I have tried so many different things on forums and I still cannot get my search index to work. Both my C and E drives are set for indexing. And the Search Index properties show no Locations as the Index is not running. My permissions are set for Local Administrator. I do not have a network with others. See more after pics.






I've tried scanning with Defender, I have scanned my whole computer. I tried to run as Administrator but it won't start.





Went to Local Services and it won't start from there. I have also disabled it altogether and re-started. Then put it back on Automatic (delayed) and re-started and still no fix.





I have looked and looked to see if I can just re-install the .exe file but the only sites that do that are not Microsoft sites and I see by Googling people sometimes have worse problems. To reinstall Windows I have to reinstall all Adobe products, Office, ArchiCAD, AutoCAD and others - a days work. Can anyone help me please? I was not having a problem until a week ago - went to insert something in Excel and Excel just shut down. This happened repeatedly after reboot etc and finally did a whole reinstall on Office 2016. It was probably linked to indexing - indexing had only searched for work down since the last shut down, the last couple of times it was working at all. I also checked and activated Windows Insider. Assistance much appreciated. Windows 10 64b, SSD drive, 64Mb RAM, Office 2016. Seems granma is not so techno on this one

• Open Control Panel.
• In the search box, type troubleshooting.
• Click on Troubleshooting.
• Click on View all.
• Select Search and Indexing and select the proper scenario that you are experiencing on indexing and click
  Next for the troubleshooting to begin.

Indexing is not working

This issue may occur due to corrupt Windows search files or settings. I suggest you to follow the below method and check if it helps.

Method 1: I would suggest you to run search and indexing troubleshooter
and check. Please follow these steps:

• 
  Type troubleshooting in the search box on taskbar.
  
• 
  Click troubleshooting in the search results.
  
• 
  Click "View all" and then click "Search and Indexing".
  
• 
  Click "Next" and follow on-screen instructions.
  

Method 2: Check if Indexing and Windows Search services are enabled. If not, enable them, if they are already enabled, then disable Windows Search Service and then enable again and restart.

  Press Windows key + R.
  
• 
  Type services in the run box, go to the Windows search services and restart them.
