  1. Search Index problems after splitting mirrored disks

A few months ago I split the mirrored disks on my PC, creating disks D and P. I then deleted stuff from one drive, and the other set of stuff from the other drive. The Pictures library was then set to P:\images instead of the previous d:\images. Ever since then I regularly maybe once a week or more find the search results in File Explorer are giving me old, stale, results - d:\images\.... If I then double click on the thumbnail to open the image it cannot find it.

Today I shutdown the indexing, deleted the Windows.edb file, and then restarted indexing, which resulted in only the Start Menu and Users folders being indexed.

I was under the impression that the Libraries were always indexed. Clearly not the case. I then clicked on Data D: to index my document folders, and found that the selected locations now included P: !! Bizarre indeed:

Given that I currently need to search for images much more often than documents, I unclicked on D:, and clicked on P: which correctly puts P: into the list of locations

Does anybody know why this behaviour is occurring? How can I get both D: and P: indexed?

At the moment my PC has just finished indexing 159,550 items, so hopefully my searches for images will now return the correct results, but it would be nice to have both docs and images indexed.

    :)

Search Index problems after splitting mirrored disks

Windows 10 not displaying search results for indexed shortcuts in a folder.

    Thanks Deepika,

I had tried running this troubleshooter before, but I've just run it again with "Files don't appear in search results" and "My problem isn't listed above" ticked, and it comes up with "Issue not present" against all potential issues, and "Troubleshooting
couldn't identify the problem", even after troubleshooting as an administrator.

I'd be glad of any other suggestions please!
