Windows 10: Second monitor keeps going to sleep.

Hi, I have connected a monitor to my laptop with a HDMI cord, When i am using the second screenmonitor as primary, I have Spotify playing but if there is no activity within 5 minutes the screen goes black. when I press the keyboard the screen comes back, and the music had continued playing the whole time. I have checked the display setting and the sleep setting is on 15mintues and i do not have this problem with my laptop only when using the monitor. I am not sure what to do?

HP monitor keeps going to sleep

I have an HP monitor w1907v operating on Windows 10. It was working fine, but now keeps going to sleep. It opens up but as soon as I start work (within 1 to 10 secs) it says "monitor going to sleep" & goes blank. Tried complete power down & reconnecting
all plugs & cables, but no improvment. I'm now using an old TV screen until I can solve the problem with the HP monitor. Any clues out there as to what I can do?
