Windows 10: Second screen not working. Code 31 on Microsofrt Remote Display Adapter

Hey,So im having the issue that my monitor connected with HDMI is not working. I checked the hardware with another device and its all working properly.I updated all necessary drivers for the Intel Graphics and i think this should work. But in the device manager i got a little yellow exclamationmark at "Microsoft Remote Display Adapter" with a Code 31. When i try to update the driver it says, that theres already the newest driver installed, but on the other side it says that the driver is missing 31. Trying to solve this problem now for a while, but now im really in need of my second screen

Right, a few weeks ago I had a problem. Every time I updated my PC it would just show a black screen and a mouse. I fixed it but the next time I updated it the same thing happened. I saw online that I can fix the problem by deleting my display adapter
and it worked! But I have a monitor connected to my laptop, that no longer works, and I can’t play games. In the device manager it says ‘Code 31’ in the properties of the display adapter. I’m also worring if I fix the display adapter will my computer get the
same black screen again?

Hi everyone, thank you for your help in advance.

I have a hp pavilion dm3 laptop, after updating to windows 10 I found the following problems. my computer is running on a 32 bit operating system.

1. Cannot extend monitor to dual monitor.

2. Found code 31 when I look into device manager after expanding "display adapters" - microsoft basic display adapter.

"This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31)

The driver trying to start is not the same as the driver for the POSTed display adapter."

Microsoft Basic Display Adapter not working properly (error code 31)

I've been getting "graphics device driver error code 31", but when i try to update my drivers both on my GPU (NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080) and on the Microsoft Basic Display Adapter it says the latest drivers are already downloaded. When I then try to choose manually from the computer it fails.

I've tried:

• Updating my GPU drivers
  
• Updating the Microsoft Basic Display Adapters drivers (both manually and automatically)
  
• Checked for updates on Windows Update
  
• Inactivated and re-activated the Microsoft Basic Display Adapter
  
• Uninstalling the Microsoft Basic Display Adapter and restarting my PC
  

I don't know what else I can do

Help would be greatly appreciated
