Windows 10: Security settings and Personal Vault require a security key, except none is set up

Hello,I recently switched my phone which had the authenticator app, and now everything that required access through the authenticator verification is messed up as the settings haven't transferred properly. I was trying to access my account security settings earlier and I was prompted to use a physical security key, something I haven't set up and don't have. Security Key with OneDrive - Personal Vault Online - fine but ...

when I r-click the OneDrive button in the taskbar and select "Unlock Personal Vault" the security key option regretfully is not offered.

Can this be changed somewhere?
Vainly searched in the Microsoft Account settings - maybe overlooking something.

OneDrive Personal Vault Security Flaw

There is a workaround for accessing the files supposedly secured in your personal vault that I accidentally discovered while tinkering around on my file explorer. By changing the View settings on the file explorer like so: Select View > Options > Change folder and search options. Select the View tab and, in Advanced settings, select Show hidden files, folders, and drives; I could access all the files in my personal vault without having to go through any authentication procedures. This may be a major oversight by Microsoft that comprises the touted added layer of security that the Personal Vault was supposed to offer. Did this method work for anyone else? Is it a big deal for those who use the Personal Vault?

I mean, yes, everyone should do that in general but then what is the point of the personal vault if the security measures can be circumvented?
