Windows 10: Security Update Troubles, Laptop Reset

Recently I've been trying to install the new security update on my HP Stream laptop and have had a few problems. I've looked around for a few fixes, but none really helped, so I decided to reset my computer entirely (I didn't really have anything important on it, so why not?). Unfortunately, now my laptop will not even turn on because it ran into problems during the reset. I'd prefer not having to get a new laptop, and I haven't tried reinstalling windows from a USB yet, but I will while I'm waiting for a response.

Windows 10 fails to update


When you finish testing the Avast suggestion, make sure that you restart your machine.

Then if the issue persists, please return to the trouble shooting list in post# 89

I think there are three steps that remain; the WU troubleshooter, reset WU components, and manual WU reset.

I cannot reset Window's 10 because I don't have the disk, I'm one of the dumbies that fell for the scam that something was wrong with my Laptop thus corrupting 7 so even though I got messages for upgrade to 10 it didn't work it kept saying I didn't have
correct key! so I took it to a IT specialist he does security for Banks in Chicago and he cleaned it and upgraded the laptop and I think he hid important things so I didn't get into trouble and mess with any setting's which is actually pretty smart for girl's
that are 100% right brained

 

Multiple Issues After Resetting Laptop


Hi,

I recently reset my laptop and since then I've been experiencing a whole host of issues:

• Windows search bar doesn't work
• Shop app won't open
• Won't allow me to change location settings
• Clock/calendar on my toolbar is unresponsive when I click on it

Any ideas what the problem might be, please? Advice / suggestions are very much appreciated!
