Windows 10: Seeking Adobe Acrobat X Pro Alternatives

Windows 10 Pro - 2004, OS Build: 19041.746

Howdy All *Smile

I'm a long time user of Adobe Acrobat X Pro which is now out of date and no longer supported.
Adobe is pushing me to buy its "Latest and Greatest", but since I'm now retired it's hard to justify $450 and I'm not one who rents software month-by-month.

I see many alternatives and hope to avoid trial and error.
Any personal reviews and/or comments on alternate products would be greatly appreciated.

I want Adobe Acrobat Standard X to be my default not Reader

As per the description, Adobe Acrobat Standard X is not listed as a default app but it pops up listed as a "desktop app".

I suggest you to check the app in the Programs and features.
To do so follow the below steps.

1. Press Windows + R, type appwiz.cpl

If the application is not present in the Programs & Features
then Suggest you to download the app from the link.

choose the appropriate language under Acrobat X standard installer,
and download.

Adobe Acrobat X Pro no longer works after upgrading to Windows 10

I see that the Adobe Acrobat X Pro application is no longer working after upgrading to Windows 10.I appreciate your efforts in resolving the issue.

I suggest you to uninstall the application completely from the system and then again install it.
