"Select Icons Which Appear on the Taskbar" - choices not sticking after reboot/restart...?

I am not seeing a USB device (X-Rite i1Display Pro) attached to the computer.

It is not visible in Taskbar, as I would expect. It is also not visible in Device Manager, as I would expect.

If I choose, Windows Key/X > Settings > Devices, I can see it there and remove it.

Also, it is working perfectly with X-Rite software.

But, I'd like to be able to disconnect it via the Taskbar.

    So,...……..

    I do the following...

Right Click Taskbar > Settings > Notification Area > Select which icons appear on the taskbar > Windows Explorer/Safely remove hardware and eject...

    I turn this On.

But, after a restart, I check and it's off again.

If this would make my USB device visible in the Taskbar, how can I make it stay on?

    Many thanks.

    Denis

    Sound icon missing from taskbar

    Hi,

Provide us with the below information to help you better.

Which build is currently running on your computer?

As an initial step I would suggest you to install all the pending updates and restart your computer, check if it fixes the issue.

Make sure Volume button display is enabled in taskbar.

    • Open settings window
    • Click on personalization, on left pane select task bar.
    • On right pane click on 'select what icons appear on the taskbar'.
    • Toggle volume icon to make volume icon appear on task bar.

Get back to us with the status of the issue for further assistance.

"Select Icons Which Appear on the Taskbar" - choices not sticking after reboot/restart...?

Shortcut to "select which icons appear on the taskbar"

My challenge is that I'm running a program that refuses to retain it's taskbar setting to always show. So, everytime I reboot, I have to go to "System\Notifications & actions\Select which icons appear on the taskbar" and find the program (it's Choicemail) and toggle on the notification.

I have a shortcut to get me to the "System\Notifications & actions dialog", but I'd really like to go direct to the "Select which icons appear on the taskbar" dialog.

Of course, the ideal solution would be for Choicemail to resolve this problem, but they haven't since Windows XP and their tech support blames Microsoft.

I'd use a macro to execute, but with Windows 10 walking away from shortcut keys on most system settings, I haven't figured that out. I also don't know what CMD to use from an admin run instance to get there.

    Any suggestions will be appreciated.

    TIA!
