Emma I can only speculate why Microsoft wants to control peoples computers. That is really no way to fix this problem except don't use W-10. Sooner or later Microsoft will catch on, but I think it's going to be later.
Remember we are posting on the Ten Forum and most members don't seem to care if Microsoft controls things.
In my opinion the mass of users of computers or cell phone ect. don't want to take charge of their devices. They are very happy not to be responsible for how their devices work or don't work.
That is exactly the new customers Microsoft wants. Kind of like Apple users.
If we wait long enough maybe things will get better for those of us that want control our computers.
    Only time will tell.

LB I agree with you. Most people I know don't care how it works and if they have a problem they call someone for help. I am a very independent person and don't like to ask for help. I am very good at what I do, but that is not saying much compared to how smart the posters are in this forum. I have learned a lot reading in computer forums.

@Emma - I think with this thread we've shown that, albeit slightly workaroundish, there is a way to have full control over what is installed and what isn't in terms of Win Updates in Win10.

@LB - very good point again. Ppl nowadays complain of social medias and big brother spying on them and knowing everything about them and yet it's those very same ppl who upload they whole LIVES on social medias. How stupid is that? Insanely stupid, I'd say. Good point about the type of customer u made ... very true that. *Smile
