  1. Sent emails disappearing on Mail app


    I have a Surface Go 2 running Windows 10 Home, and the latest version of the Mail app. The app was working properly until today. Today, when I compose and send an email through Mail, one of two things happen. One, the email simply disappears. It does not show up in Sent Mail or Drafts. Two, the email appears as Sent but the content is blank.


    Sometimes, the disappearing emails show up and are sent after 20-30 minutes, sometimes not.


    I could use Outlook, but I am wondering what this problem is and if it might affect Outlook as well.

    Sent e-mail disappears from "Sent Item"

    I tested an email app called Mail.ru on my phone and discovered that sent emails don't disappear with that app. It seems that Outlook Mail is the cause for disappearing sent emails.

    I used to have no problems sending a Mail merge on Windows 7, however, trying to do one today on Windows 10, and it's simply not working.

    I've done everything the same, using an excel document as the data source, and that works fine. When I select Finish & Merge -> Send Email Documents and then OK, Word makes it appear it worked (all the dynamic values change to those of the contacts as it cycles through sending each email), but that's it. Not one email is sent; nothing in my sent items and nothing shows that any of those contacts have been email on our exchange or email archive software.

    I've seen that people suggest that Outlook is my default app (it is). Double checked the registry key as well Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Clients\Mail\(Default) has the value Microsoft Outlook.

    I've literally done nothing different from when doing this on Windows 7; seems that the searches seem to suggest that it's a common problem as well, but everyone seems to say they had a problem and disappears from their support request (and most answer tell you to check the above registry key).

    Hello,

    TL;DR--I sent an email via the Windows 10 Mail app--It didn't send and it isn't in my outbox/sent items. Does anyone know if the Mail app stores stuck emails in a file- or folder-based storage so that I can copy and resend the message?

    With more detail: I sent an email with the Windows 10 built-in Mail App (Modern App) to my Yahoo/IMAP-based account. Unfortunately, prior to sending the email, I had enabled two-step authentication on my Yahoo account but didn't change the Mail
    app's connection settings to update it with an App Password. Subsequently, when I sent the mail it went to an outbox and disappeared, but the email didn't get sent. I'm looking to see if there is a way to retrieve mails that are lost in this manner.
