Server 2019 fails to boot after installing April updates KB5001342

Server 2019 failed to reboot after installing the latest updates with 'ACPI.sys is corrupt or missing'

After trying a plethora of possible fixes that got nowhere, DISM RevertPendingAction got it back up and running.

I did notice that, apart from the update, it was also installing a new service stack and I seem to remember installing service stacks and updates at the same time could be problematic.

    Here are the questions.

Back in the day it was easy enough to select items to be installed e.g. install the service stack, then come back and install updates that require a reboot. Is there any way to accomplish this with Mein Fuhrer updates?

Has anyone else experienced problems with this update?

    Thanks

    :)

    Spoiler Office 2019
Last year at Ignite, we announced Office 2019 – the next perpetual version of Office that includes apps (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, and Skype for Business) and servers (including Exchange, SharePoint, and Skype for Business). Today we’re pleased to share the following updates:

    • Office 2019 will ship in H2 of 2018. Previews of the new apps and servers will start shipping in the second quarter of 2018.
    • Office 2019 apps will be supported on:
      • Any supported Windows 10 SAC release
      • Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC 2018
      • The next LTSC release of Windows Server
    • The Office 2019 client apps will be released with Click-to-Run installation technology only. We will not provide MSI as a deployment methodology for Office 2019 clients. We will continue to provide MSI for Office Server products.

  4. Server 2019 fails to boot after installing April updates KB5001342

Windows Server 2019 Failing to install Cummulative Updates

We have Windows Server 2019 LTSB 1809 17763 installed on new production Servers.

All of the other windows updates including servicing stack are installing fine except any of the Cumulative Updates.

I have tried Feb and March 2020 Cumulative Update but both fails to complete.

    Tried Chkdisk with scannow options.

Tried Installing Windows manually and via SCCM but both fails as well.

I have installed latest 2020-03 Servicing stack as well, but did not work.

    Errors:

    ------------------

Installation Failure: Windows failed to install the following update with error 0x800F0922: 2020-02 Cumulative Update for Windows Server 2019 for x64-based Systems (KB4532691).

Installation Failure: Windows failed to install the following update with error 0x800F0922: 2020-03 Cumulative Update for Windows Server 2019 for x64-based Systems (KB4538461).

Please advise if you are also facing similar issue and able to assist in solving this problem.
