Windows 10: Service Host - Delivery Optimization using 20+ Mbps

After updating my PC a few days ago I noticed EXTREMELY slower internet speeds than normal. With a few minutes of investigation into the culprit I found through Task Manager that "Service Host: Network Service" was eating up my bandwidth. (Specifically Delivery Optimization) I attempted to disable the service start up type, though the services screen and was prompted with an "Access Denied" screen. I then attempted to stop the service which only solves the bandwidth issue for a few seconds then the service automatically starts up again. I also disabled the "Allow downloads from other PCs" from the Delivery Optimization screen from advanced options in the windows update setting.


Please help, internet on PC is unusable and other devices suffer the bandwidth issue when PC is on.

There's this service host called delivery optimization and it's really sucking up all of my network, and I have been really impatient with it in the last few days. Can I stop the service? How? And are there consequences if I do that? Thanks.

You may also try to disable Service Host: Delivery Optimization by following the steps below:

1. Type in Win + R to get the Run box.

2. Enter services.msc then click OK.

3. Then search for Service Host: Delivery Optimization.

4. Right-click then click Properties.

5. Under Startup type, select Disable.
