    Service Host "Windows Time" hogging CPU

    Today I had a system that has been observed running the Windows Time service host at 56% CPU. I couldn't find a lot of literature on the topic and I couldn't resolve. I took a break and the service was back to 0. Someone else is also having the issue. What can cause this and how can I troubleshoot it? Windows 10 is the OS.

    :)

  3. High CPU usage by Service Host

    My computer is running extremely slow - even though I have plenty of memory. Checked the Task Menu and something called "Service Host:Local System" seems to be hogging anywhere from 30-90% of CPU capacity. There are 2 subtasks below this Service Host Process;
    (1) Windows update and (2) Update Orchestrator Service. I also see other processes with the "Service Host" stem. Others are "Service Host" Security System" and "Service Host : State Repository System"

    WHat is "Service Host"? Do I need it or should I end the operation? Note, my system has been running slowly now for 6 months and only getting worse.

    Please advise. I have Windows 10 installed (computer originally came with Windows 7)

  4. Service Host "Windows Time" hogging CPU

    Windows 10, Service host local 13 hogs too much wifi

    I have an old PC which I picked up from the garbage and repaired. It is a Toshiba satellite m300 laptop that have a cracked case. I repaired it. It has good ram (4gb) and cpu (2.1ghz) but is using a lousy usb wifi dongle. With wifi lousy enough, what is
    more sickening is that service host local 13 is hogging all of them! I dont mind if it hogs ram and cpu as i have lots of them. but THE WIFI!!!!! I cant even search google when this is running in the background . I had switched to linux mint. If this is not
    fixed, I will never use Windows Again!
