Windows 10: Set a max width and height for maximized app window

Hello,I have a big monitor and wanted to set a max height and width when an app window is maximized. It is like adding a space around the window to make it more smaller. Resizing a window manually isn't really convenient, so are there other ways to do it?

Open a folder of images in Windows Explorer. List by Details. Open the Dimensions column. This gives you the size of the images by width and height. You can now list the images by width, from wide to narrow, but you cannot search by height, that is, tall to small. I wish to list by height.

explorer lag/slow with column "width" and "height", alternative?

as title suggested, some folders have width and height column to be able to see images max dimension in width and height without having to open it, but it lags and very slow, what to do?
