  1. Set "Default communication device" at the same time as "Default device" from the task bar

    Hello!
So here is my problem. On my computer i have always a headset plugged, and also speakers at the same time. I usually switch the output i want using the sound icon on my taskbar, like that :
Set "Default communication device" at the same time as "Default device" from the task bar 62d39f46-3594-47d6-90c2-96d79547a578?upload=true.jpg

The problem is that this changes my sound output "Default device", but will not change "Default communication device". Applications like Discord, teamspeak, skype etc... all use the "Default communication device" to choose where to output the sound. This is really annoying because each time i change from my speakers to my headphones I do it several times each day, i have to go change the output from windows then also in the application im using. otherwise the sound outputs from the wrong device.
Is there any way to fix that? Im thinking about a few ways i could solve that :
    - Disable completely the "Default communication device" or merge the 2 default, to have only 1 default. I don't even understand why i would need 2 different default devices...
    - When i change the output using the "Select playback device" it changes both default at the same time.- Make apps like discord use the "Default device" and not the "Default communication device", but i don't see any options for that.

    Any ideas ?

    :)

Default communication device on Windows 10

    Hello all,

The installation of my wavecyclic audio driver on Win 10 makes it the default communication device. This behavior is observed only on win 10, but not on win 8 or 7. Nothing specific is being done on our installer/driver to set it as default communication device. Any suggestions on why this is happening and on how to not make our driver become default communication device? I appreciate your help.

  3. How to set an app to use Default Communication Device instead of Default Playback device

As I tried to explain, I am not looking for a way to select what device is the Default Communications Device. In the initial two images, the Playback Default Communications Device and the Recording Default Communications Device are as I want them. The
Default (all other sounds) Device is set to the device I want them.

What I am looking to do is tell an application to use the Default Communication Device instead of the Default Device.

  4. Set "Default communication device" at the same time as "Default device" from the task bar

Voice chat audio no longer comes through Default communication device (mic works fine)

    Hi Samuel,

A factor why you're voice chat sounds goes through your speakers as well is due to configuration settings. We suggest that you configure playback devices. Follow the steps below:

    • Go to Control Panel > Hardware and Sound >
      Sound
      .
    • Left-click on Speakers > Click on Set as Default Device.
    • Left-click on Headphones > Select Set as Default Communication Device.
    • Click OK.

If the issue still occurs, contact your device manufacturer's support for assistance on configuring your device.

Let us know what happens after following the suggested troubleshooting steps.
