Windows 10: Set Default Programs before sysprep?

This does't seem to carry over after sysprep.

So similarly, any good options for mass deployment of default programs?

So far I've been testing GPOs to no luck. Using user policy, control panel, file options, replace, docx file extensions and then I've tried the winword.exe location in both c:/program fles and %program files%

Hi Greg! Thanks a lot for the prompt reply. I grabbed the creator's update manually and I can set default programs now just fine. Seems like my initial display driver issues with the update are gone as well now.

I would go over this checklist to make sure the install is set up correctly, optimized for best performance, and any needed repairs get done:

If none of the other steps work you can download from this link V.1607 media to download and run over the present install as a Repair Install which fixes most problems.

But what I would do if you haven't yet is manually install Fall Creator Version 1709 by installing Media Creation Tool and choosing to Upgrade Now.

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-10/m.... This the most stable method to upgrade to the new version (which you need anyway) and will bring you fully up to date with reinstalled Windows that often will solve any other problems you have. If it causes
any problems or doesn't solve the problem it can be rolled back in Recovery Settings.

But remember that Factory or Upgrade installs are inferior installs which most enthusiasts won't even run because they'd expect endless issues. Consider doing the Clean Install in this link which compiles the best possible install that will stay that way as
long as you stick with the tools and methods given:

There is also an automated Refresh that reinstalls WIndows while shedding corrupting factory bloatware, saves your files, but doesn't clear the drive to get it cleanest:
