    Set up Internet Explorer 11 Dialog Box Opens When Starting RemoteApp


    Whenever I start RemoteApp, an internet explorer dialog box with heading "Set up Internet Explorer 11" opens and is unable to be closed. How do I prevent this?

    MSN is crashing in Internet Explorer 11

    Hi Lee,

    The issue you're experiencing could be due to unauthorized add-ons causing the page not to respond. We'd like to know the following:

    • Did you notice any changes on your PC prior to the issue?
    • Is the issue happening to all websites aside from MSN.com?

    In the meantime, I suggest that you start Internet Explorer with no Add-ons. Please follow the steps below:

    • Press the Windows key + R. A Run dialog box will open.
    • Type iexplore.exe -extoff

    If you're able to browse websites without any issues, then add-ons may be cause the error. You can refer to this link on how to turn off/remove add-ons on Internet Explorer:

    Please update us with results for further assistance.

    I understand that you want to re-enable the option
    Always Ask before Opening this Type of File     in internet explorer 11.



    I would suggest you to reset the internet explorer settings to default and check if that helps. Follow the steps mentioned below to reset the settings.



    1. Press Windows key + R. This will open
      Run. Alternatively, you can go to Start and search for Run.
    2. In Run dialog box, type
      inetcpl.cpl       and hit enter.
    3. Now select the Advanced tab, and click on
      Restore advanced settings.
    4. Click on Apply.
    5. Restart the PC.

    Set up Internet Explorer 11 Dialog Box Opens When Starting RemoteApp

    Can't turn on windows feature Internet Explorer 11

    Windows 11 was not installed on my system, but I needed it to test. I can't get it to install by using the control panel.

    Here are my steps:

    In the control panel > Programs and features, I have clicked Turn Windows features on or Off, selected the box next to Internet Explorer 11 so that the box state has changed from unchecked to checked. I click OK.

    The dialog exits. There is no confirmation.

    I open the Turn windows features on or off dialog again. Internet Explorer 11 is once again unchecked.

    I restart. Internet Explorer 11 is not available on the start menu, and if I open the Turn windows features on or off dialog again. Internet Explorer 11 is unchecked.

    I have repeated the process of opening the dialog, selecting the box and pressing OK, but I still cannot find the program in the start menu by searching 'Internet Explorer'
