Windows 10: set up same outllook express account for all users

What you want to use is called roaming profile in a domain. Any domain user with roaming profile can signon to a workstation or PC. The roaming profile will downloaded from the server. When the user is done, the changes are replicate back to the server. What are your server version? There are some restriction on the servers and client operating system:

• Server 2003/Windows XP – v1
• Server 2008/Server 2008 R2/Windows Vista/Windows 7 – v2
• Server 2012/Windows 8 – v3
• Server 2012 R2/Windows 8.1 – v4
• Server 2016/Windows 10 – v5

I have not work with Server 2016 and Windows 10 since my retirement. You might have to do some research yourself! Hope this info help you.

 

As I said, I will try something. I copied my desktop icon to my D drive that tried to run this by starting PC with other user ID, but it did not work. So far not tried your suggestion.

 

Our server is 2008 R2. I don't have the rights to manipulate the Group Policy and for managing Roaming profile, one need the Admin Rights as I understood.

 

I read the link mentioned above. I do not know whether it will work or not for outlook 2013 and then there are two other problems also. First the article says that we need the actual user password to run the shortcut. If we could share the passwords than there was no need to "run as" than we could easily log on to other ID i.e is more practical. Secondly not sure, whether this will work on Domain connected PCs.

 

That is one hundred percent correct! Roaming Profile and Group Policy required a System Admin right to set up in a domain. Another facility commonly used is called the folder redirection to the server. You need to contact your System Admin to test or try out roaming profile. The Roaming profile is synchronize as you login/logout, if you have a huge roaming profile, say, 1 or 2 TB, it may be very slow at login and logout.

I think the roaming profile is more appropriate for you.

If you ever do want to start a program with runas you can set it up with the savecred option (save credentials).
Then you don't need to enter a password every time.
