Windows 10: Settings App keeps closing

The other day, I wanted to check issues with my network. I clicked "Network and Internet settings", the window with the gear popped up, and closed a few seconds later. After looking through maybe a dozen different solutions, I've found every single option on the Settings window has the same result. System, Devices, Phone, Network & Internet, Personalization, Apps, Accounts, Time & Language, Gaming, Ease of Access, Search, Privacy, Update & Security, all result in the Settings just closing. To assist you better, I would like to ask if the issue persists with other Windows Apps as well.

I suggest you to press/hold the left click button on the title bar of the calculator and drag the Windows to shrink the size of the Windows and check if the close (X) option appears. If the issue still persists, then suggest you to run the Windows Store
Apps troubleshooter by following the steps provided below:

• Type “Troubleshooting” in search box and press Enter.
• Click on View all on top left pane.
• Select “Windows Store Apps” from the list and follow the prompts for troubleshooting.

why does the "show suggestions occasionally in start" keeps turning off by itslef everytime i close the settings app?

Windows 10 apps keep closing

Try these simple fixes and report what happens:

1. Uninstall then reinstall the offending apps
2. Run the Windows Store Apps Troubleshooter at Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Troubleshooting\All Categories as an Administrator
3. Run sfc /scannow from an admin command prompt to check/repair system files
4. Try running those apps in another user account. If they work OK in a different account then you may have a corrupted user profile. There is advice on the forum how to move a user profile if needed.
