Windows 10: Setup dual-boot Ubuntu alongside Win10

I've installed Kubuntu on my SSD. I can live boot the USB and see it installed there. However, No matter what I've tried I have not been able to boot the program from my SSD. There is a EFI partition. There is a ubuntu selection available in the boot menu. Selecting it has no effect. The efibootmgr has ubuntu listed as first (I would change this latter to 2nd) but nothing seems to matter. Won't boot ubuntu. I am convinced this is a Microsoft issue, not a linux shortfall. Prove me wrong!

Hello, so i was wondering if my OEM version of Windows 10 would allow me to dual boot install Ubuntu linux alongside Windows, and still keep its activation. Is this possible?

Dual booting should be the same for everything or very similar at least.

The basic guide is to backup your data > create a disk with ubuntu on it > disable secure boot > Then boot from the USB > install ubuntu

Sorry to know that you are facing this issue.

It is recommended you have Windows 10 installed first when dual booting with Linux. If you do attempt the upgrade, either upgrade might fail or Ubuntu will not boot.

Note: Although this may seem obvious, it is important to back up your files to an external backup medium before attempting a dual-boot installation (or any other hard drive manipulation), in case the hard drive becomes corrupted during the process.
External hard drives, USB flash drives, and multiple DVDs or CDs are all useful for this purpose.
