Windows 10: sfc scannow Error-Overlap:Duplicate ownership for directory

Win 10 Pro (64 bit) on Intel DP-43TF motherboard on an Q9650 core2 quad at 3GHz with 8GB memory.
sfc /scannow fails at 66% completion with multiple "Error - Overlap: Duplicate ownership for directory" errors with different directories being listed.
What needs to be done to resolve this issue to fix the issue?

I cannot upload the CBS.log file - the error is "Your file of 9.03 MB bytes exceeds the forum's limit of 2.00 MB for this filetype."

Any suggestions?

Windows 10 Creators Update and Visual Studio 2017 Community

Hello.

I have done a clean install of Windows 10 Creators Update on my laptop with the latest ISO and everything went fine and SFC /SCANNOW reported no errors.

After I installed Visual Studio 2017 Community and run SFC if came back with a lot of errors regarding Windows System folders ownership security setting that SFC can't repair. I also tried all the DISM commands and CHKDSK and still the same issue.

Seems like all the folders security settings are changed and locked after installing Visual Studio and nothing can fix it.

Please advise a fix. I'm having some system hangs and random blue screens, and I think its because of that issue.

I've done a full system hardware test, a full system drivers check, a full system stability tests. All good, no issues with hardware and drivers and the stability tests runs for hours without issues. I still have random blue screen "SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION
(win32kfull.sys)" and weird random performance hangs.

I need Visual Studio so not using it isn't an option and remember that I've done 3 full clean install's before reporting this just for trying to debug and figure this out. So don't tell me to reinstall Windows please.

The only fix that worked for me was to restore the system immediately before installing Visual Studio but of course Visual Studio won't work after that.

Windows 10 update KB3124262 fails.

Hello

In response to the proposed solutions

- I did a clean boot as described - No result.

- I ran SFC /Scannow - No result, but

SFC ends with a logsfile with about 2000 messages containing "[DIRSD OWNER WARNING]" and "Error - Overlap: Duplicate ownership for directory"

I have no idea where problems started and how to get rid of these warnings and errors.

I installed W10 with the media creation tool and did a full fresh install (upgrade from W7 failed)

Did you try option 1 in option 3?

 

Selecting option 1 within option 3 of image health provided the same result " Error: 1392 The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable."
