Windows 10: sharing a One Drive file from my office PC

I am trying to share above. Want those i share the file with who are in my office to be able to read and modify the file.


i opened one drive on my pc

found file not folder

right clicked file name

drop down give access to >

specific people>

choose people to share with

typed in name>

clicked Add


message says network access Windows is unable to find Persons name


I used same name that is on our network.


Using WIn 10 Pro x 64

I have turned on network discovery, on file and printer sharing for private public and all networks.


Anyone know why Windows is unable to find person on network?

cannot open files on network shared drive

Is the remote shared folder mapped? Do you have a drive letter assigned to it?
I'd suggest calling the software developer and asking them.

 

Cannot access shared network drive

I could scream! so much time wasted on this stupid error, as if time is not precious enough!
It probably would work fine if I could see the other computer! But I cannot see the other computer!
